Literacy Coordinator & Coach

Originally from Chicago, Zil began their Montessori journey as a child. Since 2004, they've worked in Montessori schools as an assistant, guide, administrator, and now specialize in literacy. 

They hold a BA in Anthropology from Wesleyan University, an MEd from Loyola University of Maryland, AMI Primary and Elementary diplomas, and are certified as a structured literacy dyslexia interventionist through CERI, the Center for Effective Reading Instruction.

An advocate for making science applicable, Zil is devoted to translating literacy research into effective classroom practice. They love supporting caregivers and fellow educators to empower children in their learning. 

When not nerding out about literacy, you can find them spending time with their child, playing in the garden, reading books, and reveling in the natural beauty of the PNW.
