Volunteer Sign-Up and Tracking System for 2011-12

We are eager to welcome you to a new school year! Your energy, enthusiasm, and support for Childpeace can make 2011-12 a wonderful year for all, but especially for your student(s).

An informed and inclusive community, where parents work in partnership with the school, is our continued goal at Childpeace. We seek to create a culture of philanthropy where every member of our community understands and supports our mission to guide the development of the whole child, socially and academically, through the principles of AMI Montessori education. Our vision is to shape the future of our world through the cultivation of inquisitive minds and socially responsible young citizens.

Volunteering at Childpeace is one way for you as a parent to model social responsibility. We hope you’ll embrace our volunteer requirement as an opportunity to find an effort that utilizes your special skills, one that works with your schedule, one that fulfills an interest, or one that connects you with other community members.

Childpeace has partnered with OrgAction again this year to power our Volunteer Signup and Tracking online system. This web-based tool organizes the school's volunteer needs as well as provides an easy and transparent tool for parents to sign up for jobs and log their hours.

Volunteer sign-ups are offered on a first come, first serve basis, so be sure to check in right away to sign up for the volunteer effort of your choice. You'll notice some volunteer opportunities are not yet available on the website. We will send out notices as additions are made throughout the school year.

2011-2012 School Year “Colony Hour” Volunteer Requirements

Families with one child at Childpeace: a minimum of 12 hours required (total per family).
Families with more than one child at Childpeace: a minimum of 15 hours required (total per family).
Parents are responsible for reporting their volunteer hours in order for them to be credited. You may count up to two hours of time spent at parent education events towards your yearly requirement.

Our hope is that all families find a way to fulfill their yearly volunteer requirement. In order for hours to be credited to the current school year, they must be submitted no later than May 13th. Unfulfilled/unreported hours will be charged at $20 per hour on your child’s June tuition bill. Volunteer hours anticipated after May 13th should be reported in advance to receive credit. Adjustments can not be made once you receive your June tuition bill.
