Stephanie graduated from Miami University of Ohio with a BA in Interdisciplinary Studies and a focus in education and psychology. She completed her AMI primary training at the Montessori Institute Northwest in 1999 and received a Master's of Education in Montessori from Loyola College the following year. She was a Guide at West Hills Montessori for three years then joined Childpeace community as a Guide from 2003 - 2006. She happily returned to Childpeace in fall, 2009, after being at home with twins.

Wendi Taylor
Assistant

Wendi was born and raised in Portland and graduated from Portland State University with a B.A. inEnglish Literature. Since coming to Childpeace in 1992, she has worked in many different capacities. In addition to her work with children, she has renovated many houses and owned and operated a furniture store. Her son Thomas graduated from the Children’s House at The Terrace and the Lower Elementary.

Venus Zaron
Guide

Venus was a Montessori child and has two children, at Childpeace. She is from Austin, TX but the NW is her favorite of the places she has lived. Venus is trained at the Assistants to Infancy (The Montessori Institute) and Children's House (Ohio Montessori Training Institute) levels. She has a Master's in Education. She is delighted to join the staff of Childpeace. She loves ballet, Greece, cooking and celebrating holidays with her children, and studying human development and dance history.

Amanda Donigan
Assistant

Amanda graduated from St. Edward's University in Austin, TX with a degree in Communication. She worked as a primary assistant at an Austin Montessori school called The Children's School before coming to Childpeace.

Maren Thomas
Guide

Maren received her AMI Primary Diploma from the Montessori Institute Northwest in 2003 and her B.A. in Human Studies from Marylhurst University in 2004. After working in the Childpeace Club Rooms, she spent five years as a lead guide at Juneau Montessori School in Juneau, AK before returning to join the Childpeace community in 2009.

Anastasia Shulevitz
Assistant

Anastasia graduated from Lewis and Clark College, received a Primary Level AMI Diploma in 1995 and worked as a CH Guide at Childpeace from 1995 - 2000. She returned to Childpeace in 2008 as an assistant, and is the parent of three Childpeace students.

Michelle Becka
Guide

Michelle completed her AMI Primary training at the Montessori Institute Northwest in 1997 and worked as a Children’s House guide at Skinner Montessori before joining Childpeace in July of 1998. She received a B.A. from the University of Arizona and holds a Masters Degree in Early Childhood Education from Loyola College, in Maryland.

Susan Harris
Assistant

Susan graduated from Beloit College in Wisconsin with a B.A. in Studio Art. Susan worked at Childpeace before becoming a mother, and returned to Childpeace in 2004 after three years at home with her son Max, who is in the Lower EL.

Jamie Cunningham
Assistant

Jamie joined Childpeace as a sub in the winter of 2011 and came on full time as a club room assistant at the beginning of this school year. She strives to live a happy, healthy, adventurous life. Jamie is originally from Southern California but moved to Oregon 11 years ago. She is genuinely interested in the health and safety of her friends, family and all other creatures and beings. For as long as she can remember, it has been a passion of hers to work with children and other adults who care for the well being and education of our future.

Juliet Maisel
Guide

Juliet Maisel began her work at 18 months in the toddler community at a Montessori school in Chicago. Since then she has received her bachelor's in Elementary Education from the University of Kansas. Going back to her roots, Juliet moved to Portland to attend the Montessori Institute Northwest. Through this work, she also received her Master's in Education through the Loyola College of Maryland. Juliet has lived in Portland now for four years and loves the big city, small town feel to it. When she's not working with children she enjoys yoga, walks with her dogs and all the good food Portland has to offer.

Annie Stewart
Assistant

Annie was born and raised in Chicago, IL, and moved out to the Pacific Northwest 11 years ago. She graduated from Portland State University with a BS in Sociology and a minor in Women's Studies. She has always had a passion to work with children and she feels excited to be apart of the Childpeace community. When she is not working she enjoys the outdoors, good food and time with friends and family.
