Information About Enrolling at Childpeace
Childpeace offers the opportunity for children to be engaged in a healthy educational community for a span of many years, some from their toddling steps through 9th grade. Each classroom environment is a mixed-age group, with openings for new children at the younger end of the age spectrum. We do prioritize for siblings of currently enrolled students and children transferring from other Montessori programs. For specific information about current openings, please check the section on tour and space availability updates.

The Toddler Community has 20 children, with about 10 openings per year for new children to start when they are 15 to 18 months old. Openings are year-round as the 3 year olds move up to the next age group.

The Children's House in NW has four classrooms (mixed ages of 3 to 6 year olds), with about 30 openings for new 3 year olds to start in September (who have turned 3 years old by Sept 1 of the school year). The Children's House in SE has one classroom, with about 8 openings for new 3 year olds to start each fall. On rare occasions there is room to start a child who is 4 or 5 years old or to start a child in the middle of the school year.

The Lower Elementary has three classrooms (each with mixed ages of 6 to 9 year olds), and each year we have room for a few new children to start (usually at age 6, "first grade"). The majority of spaces for new children are taken by those moving up from our Children's House program and siblings. On rare occasions there is room to start a child who is 7 or 8 years old.
The Upper Elementary has two classrooms (mixed ages of 9 to 12 year olds). On rare occasions we have space to balance the mixed-age groups with a new child of a specific age and gender.

The Childpeace sponsored Metro Montessori Middleschool is a mixed age group of 12 to 14 year olds (7th, 8th, and potentially 9th grades). Most students have graduated from an AMI Montessori elementary program, and we accept a few students new to Montessori who seem to be a good fit for our approach to learning. If you are interested in enrolling your child for 7th or 8th grade and you would like to receive updates about the program, please complete a Parent Interest Form and indicate your interest in Metro in the final comment section of the form. Application packets for the next school year are available here and also at the Childpeace office -- and are due by February 25th for priority enrollment. We also require that a student have a full-day visit as part of their application process, and that parents tour during the school day OR at an Open House. Our Spring MMM Open House is Wednesday, February 15th, 3:30 - 5:00 p.m. and we hope to see you there!

Because of our long history, AMI certification, centralized location, and stellar reputation, Childpeace has an immense number of parents expressing an interest in seeing our program. Unfortunately we cannot offer a program tour to every family with children under age 6 who is on our Parent Interest List. However, our monthly Montessori Hour events are great opportunities to learn about Montessori education in general and about Childpeace in particular. Tours and wait list applications are only offered when we foresee a possible space for your child.
